About the Yard
AF Environmental Base Vats is a modern industrial area of approximately 300,000 m2 that is used for recycling offshore and marine structures.
The facility is a European leader in recycling of offshore installations, recovering more than 95 per cent of the materials from the structures it receives. The facility can receive all types of vessels, rigs and heavy-lift vessels delivering structures.
AF Environmental Base Vats is one of the few facilities approved under the European Union Ship Recycling Regulation. Its port facility also complies with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).
Its strategic location, close to Utsira and the southern North Sea, also makes the base well suited to assembly and other offshore wind activities.
