Rehabilitating the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences
Collaborative contracting with Statsbygg for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences at Sognsvann in Oslo.
Project status
The project covers approximately 16,000 square metres of existing building stock, including sports facilities, teaching spaces and office areas, along with associated technical installations.
The buildings at Sognsvann were transferred to Statsbygg’s management in 2020. Prior to that, Statsbygg carried out a comprehensive refurbishment of large parts of the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences between 2017 and 2019. However, certain buildings were not included in that work—primarily the sports hall and adjacent teaching and office buildings.
The technical systems in these buildings have now reached the end of their expected service life and are due for replacement. In the previous project, a new energy centre was established, based on ground-source heating from energy wells. The new technical systems will be connected to this solution, with the aim of significantly reducing energy consumption compared to current levels.
In addition, the project will include selected maintenance measures on the buildings and upgrades related to universal design.
