Wastewater Treatment Plant in Knislinge
AF Bygg Syd is constructing a new wastewater treatment plant in Knislinge, Östra Göinge Municipality, on behalf of Skåne Blekinge Vattentjänst AB (SBVT).
Project status
The construction of the new treatment plant is an important step toward ensuring sustainable and efficient wastewater services for the region.
After many years in operation, the existing plant will be replaced by a modern facility on the same site. During the construction period, the current plant will remain in operation until the new one is commissioned.
The new facility will treat wastewater from the urban areas of Knislinge, Broby and Sibbhult, as well as the surrounding areas. It is being designed for a maximum average weekly load of approximately 15,500 population equivalents (PE).
The project is being carried out as a design‑build contract and includes all construction and groundwork, as well as mechanical, HVAC and electrical installations, along with engineering and design services. Building this new wastewater treatment plant is an important step toward securing sustainable and efficient wastewater services for the future.
