Benefits of prefabrication
AF Energi has extensive experience with prefabricated elements for large energy centres – a solution that can significantly reduce the overall construction time.
Benefits of prefabricated elements:
- Since the elements are produced in a factory and can be lifted into place ready-made, the construction time for the entire project can be significantly reduced.
- Highly space-efficient, as much of the assembly work and welding is done in the factory, eliminating the need to allocate extra space for installation work inside the building.
- Improves safety, as there is less installation work at height and in confined shafts.
- Increases quality, as better control is possible when precision work is carried out indoors at a single location.
Heats 5,000 homes using surplus heat
At Ulven, AF Energi has developed and built an energy centre that converts surplus heat from the data center into district heating.
Prefabricated pipe shafts reduced construction time at the Life Science Building
- Prefabricated pipe shafts at Livsvitenskapsbygget
In early March, 17‑metre‑tall prefabricated pipe shafts were lifted into the Life Science Building. This is the first time this method has been used on such a large scale.
