About the project
AF Claxton was engaged by BP to deliver an 18¾” 7,000 psi subsea riser package for the Cypre and Ginger drilling campaign in Trinidad.
With rig downtime carrying significant operational and financial implications, speed of delivery was critical. The complete riser package was prepared in just four weeks, including the mobilisation of 285 tonnes of equipment to Trinidad by air freight.

The Solution
AF Claxton mobilised teams across engineering, workshop, logistics and supply chain to prepare the equipment within the demanding schedule. Primary and backup riser systems were prepared in parallel to ensure equipment availability throughout the campaign.
Working with sister company AF Probe, AF Claxton also fast-tracked the design and manufacture of critical equipment. Mobilisation was carefully prioritised to ensure the most critical equipment arrived first.
Key Results
The campaign included 20 riser deployments across 12 wells, with more than 4,400 metres of riser run and recovered. Across 824 offshore operational days, the project achieved zero safety incidents and zero client non-productive time.
