AF Academy

AF Gruppen has an educationprogram in 3 levels, which is held either internal in the company or by an external educationcenter.

AF Academy

The AF Academy is a structured way of gathering together our courses and training schemes. A course pyramid gives an understanding of the training on offer. Training can be divided into three groups: introduction, basic and management.

Several of the courses at various levels are compulsory for particular positions at AF. The following is a summary of the compulsory courses for selected posts. It does not include all positions at AF. In other cases requirements from equivalent positions are applied. If no equivalent positions exist and it is clear that there are positions lacking training requirements, these should be reported to Personnel and the organisation.

This list highlights the link between skills enhancement and career development.

The compulsory courses are not an absolute requirement but are an indication of the training which individual employees ought to have. The course catalogue will contain many further courses which are not compulsory. In respect of these, employees must consult with their manager and choose course content suitable for their personal development plan. Compulsory courses must be completed within three years at the position which the employee has reached.

Introduction Course
The Introduction Course is designed to give new employees insight into what AF is, together with its core values, behaviour code, Quality Management, Health, Safety and the Environment and Six Sigma.

The Management System
The course is designed to give new employees an insight into how we work at AF and what systems we use to control our processes. The Management System is normative for all processes at AF and is one of our most important tools for achieving our goals. It enables us to do things in a uniform way and thus to standardise and develop our company ethos.

In addition, the Management System contains administrative procedures and an associated 1T-related support system.

Basic - Professional Skills Course
AF's activities make high demands on various professional skills. These include both the work skills necessary to maintain our production and implement our work tasks and also the skills requirements imposed on us by the authorities, customers and our own Management System. A list of professional skills courses is included in a separate course catalogue.

Management - Managers' Course I
Managers' Course I is based on the personal qualities which AF prioritises highest:

- Following the behaviour code and the core values
- Being business-minded
- Making decisions and taking action
- Leading and inspiring
- Analysing

In addition there will be a focus on selected professional skills areas which are not part of the ordinary skills courses. For instance, this might be risk management, contract administration and the law of construction contracts.

Management - Managers' Course II
Managers' Course II is an external course, such as Young Manager at Insead, or single modules at the BI Business School. Consideration must be given to a contract for a minimum employment period between the employee and AF, obliging the employee to work for AF for a time equivalent to the length of the training once the course has finished.

Management - Top Management
Top Management requires highly qualified managers. To ensure the necessary skills and quality we can offer managers opportunities for further education. The further education must be connected with the employee's development plan, with clear aims for both AF and the employee. Whenever a further education course lasting over six months is implemented, a contract for a minimum employment period must be entered into between the employee and AF, obliging the employee to continue working for AF for a period equal to the length of the education course once the course has finished.
