Olav Thon Group – green and profitable comfort. The major idea behind Thon Hotels' Energy Efficiency measures is to have energy reduction without it affecting the comfort and experience of their guests.
After the measures were implemented, they achieved a reduction rate of well over 28 %.
A total of 38 hotels participated in the programme. At current energy prices, this corresponds to a savings of NOK 12,000,000 per year. The main part of the measures consists of heat pumps monitoring and analysing the energy consumption and new control routines for technical facilities. The project has been so successful that is has also been carried out at the shopping centres in the Olav Thon Group.
In total, AF Energi & Miljøteknikk has been a consultant and responsible for Energy Efficiency analyses and the execution of approx. 500 measures at the Olav Thon Group, with guaranteed results. The execution of various measures has encompassed the delivery of measures such as heat pumps, complete rehabilitation of heating installations, control automation, energy follow-up systems, operating instructions, etc.
