Hjortnes Wharf, Oslo

AF has upgraded Hjortnes Wharf to be able to accommodate new and larger crusie ships.

The work includes establishing eight new fender points, of which six have torsion fenders, Two of these are free-standing dolphins out in the sea.

Erosion under existing wharfs is being guarded against by driving sheet piling along the wharf front. In addition, two new large mooring points have been established in on the land.

The work was complicated because existing maritime traffic was to not be impeded or rerouted.
