AF Anlegg Oil & Gas encompasses the new construction, development and upgrading of onshore facilities and transfer facilities for the oil and gas industry.
The Oil & Gas segment encompasses:
- New construction of onshore facilities for receiving, processing and storing oil and gas
- Expansions, upgrades and maintenance of onshore facilities already in operation
- Transport of oil, gas and condensate
- Combined heat and power plants and CO2 scrubbing plants
Oil & Gas includes the following tasks:
- Land reclamation
- Site work and civil engineering projects with infrastructure
- Building-related work
- Wharf facilities
- Landfall facilities
- Tunnels and rock chambers
- Piping
AF has carried out significant projects in the past 15 years in the field of oil and gas. Through our projects for the oil companies, we have established capacity and competence for the execution of construction projects in connection with the utilisation of the nation's oil and gas resources by the oil companies. Carrying out projects for the oil companies has contributed to the development of AF and our employees through the focusing by our customers on values and control systems.
In the years 2002 – 2007, AF has been involved in Statoil's large development project, Snøhvit, which encompasses the extraction of gas from the Barents Sea with associated onshore facilities at Melkøya outside Hammerfest. This is occurring after the oil companies in recent years have had relatively few commenced and on-going development projects The level of activity has increased strongly through the Snøhvit development project and has resulted in the expansion of a number of the existing onshore facilities.
