AF builds environmental investment project for StatoilHydro
AF Gruppen has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with StatoilHydro regarding building and civil work related to SMIL, the environmental investment project at Mongstad. The agreement has a value of approximately MNOK 80 excluding VAT.
The project is a general contract and the business unit AF Anlegg will do the construction work. The Statoil Mongstad environmental investment project (SMIL) includes an upgrade and capacity increase of the sour water stripper tower in addition to a more effective sulphur recycling facility.
The letter of intent includes construction of a new process area for SMIL. AF will build a new oily water system, while parts of the existing fire water system will be changed. In addition, AF will replace HVAC installations. Work is scheduled to start in February 2008 and should be completed in December 2008. Approximately 25 employees will take part in the project.
- We are very satisfied that StatoilHydro again has chosen AF as Contractor. This is an important project in relation to AF Gruppen’s focus on environmental projects for the oil and gas companies. AF has experience from similar work for customers in the oil, gas and industry businesses and we are also taking part in the construction of a combined heat and power plant in the same area, says Pål Egil Rønn, CEO of AF.
