AF has been awarded the contract to build and rehabilitate the Twin Schools at Oppsal.
AF has long experience in the rehabilitation of public buildings. The demolition, total rehabilitation and new building of Tvillingskolene will be carried out while the school is still in full operation. The two schools have a total of 720 pupils.
Construction Stage 1 comprises approx. 4500 m2 new build and approx. 1000 m2 rehabilitation and is due to be handed over by the start of the school year in 2008. Construction Stage 2 (option) comprises approx. 3000 m2 and is due for completion in 2008 - 2009.
Tvillingskolene are very much a campus-style school and the functional areas are divided between many different buildings. It is the intention that this characteristic is also preserved after the expansion.
