Municipality of Asker – the best in Norway in Energy Efficiency. Through a separate energy programme, the Municipality of Asker has cut its power costs by nearly NOK seven million, just this past year alone.
The energy programme was carried out by AF Energi & Miljøteknikk, in close co-operation with the municipality. The project started up in the autumn of 2003, and encompasses 85 buildings corresponding to 258,000 m2.
After having carried out an Energy Efficiency analysis of all the buildings, and installed systems for automatic energy monitoring, AF Energi & Miljøteknikk was tasked with carrying out various measures with the responsibility for the project planning and the delivery of the project.
This involved, among other things, training the personnel responsible for operation, new operating procedures for the delivery of new control automation systems and new heating systems. Today, the Municipality of Asker is among the best in the country with respect to energy conservation.
