AF Energi & Miljøteknikk, a company in the AF Group, has been commissioned by Vågen Eiendomsforvaltning to carry out an energy efficiency analysis and assessment and issue a certificate.
The new regulations on energy labelling came into force on 1 January 2010. The energy labelling scheme will involve the energy testing and certification of up to 2,000,000 homes, 150,000 commercial buildings and 100,000 holiday homes, as well as about 220,000 technical installations.
The agreement between AF and Vågen Eiendomsforvaltning involves a building of about 5,000m2, originally built in 1958 and latter insulated with a new brick facade. The building has a ventilation system and evacuation based heat pump from 2000. Heating is mainly by heat pump and oil fired boiler. Vågen Eiendomsforvaltning is among the first to get energy labelling for its buildings, which are currently leased to Stavanger city council and Rogaland county council.
In addition to the officially required energy assessment and certificate, a further energy efficiency analysis will be carried out that will evaluate the building’s condition and its energy consumption and give proposals for improvements. The analysis provides specific recommendations of which measures are most profitable, what investment is necessary and what savings will be given. This will give Vågen Eiendomsforvaltning a basis for deciding on what further energy efficiency measures will be taken in the building.
The analysis
As a result of the analysis, AF Energi & Miljøteknikk are given a guarantee of the level of investment needed to implement the correct measures, as well as a guarantee of savings. The analysis also includes a finance analysis and a description of the financial support that is available. Projects can often be financed from the operating budget.
