AF is performing TCM Civil 2 works as part of the Technology Centre Mongstad for Statoil ASA.
AF shall perform all the ground, pipes and concrete work for the construction of a new test centre for treatment of CO2 at Mongstad. The contract is a classic Civil 2 job where AF is responsible for building all the necessary infrastructure and support for pipes and modules.
AF shall among other construct an electrical station of 1200 m2, a pumping station of 100 m2 in the sea, mounting of 100 x prefab pillars, cast 8000 m3 concrete, assemble 3 km of cable conduits, and add 8 different piping system.
Facts about TCM:
Technology Centre Mongstad (TCM) shall develop, test and qualify new technologies for capturing CO2 from flue gas. It will be tested and developed for two flue gas sources (both gas- and coal fired power plants). Furthermore, the TCM through its technology development shall reduce costs and risks associated with CO2 capture in full-scale. The goal is to reduce both operational and capital expenditure, improvement of HSE and performance/reliability. The focus will be on the reduction of environmental risks related to full-scale CO2 capture. The results of the TCM could have international significance for future capture. Owners are Gassnova SF, A / S Norske Shell and Statoil ASA.
