TCM Pump House Mongstad

AF has, as part of the TCM Civil 2 project at Mongstad built a Sea Cooling Water Pump House with a volume of 1000 m3 for Statoil ASA.

The Pump House was built on a lowering barge approximately 2 km from the oil refinery at Mongstad. 9 m of the total height of 11 m for the Pump House was constructed on the lowering barge to insure that the structure would flow easily off by immersion. The remaining concrete works was done when the Pump House was finally located.

The works was carried out from February to June 2010, followed by backfilling and completion work. Construction of the Pump House was done by use of approximately 320 m3 of concrete and 60 tonnes with reinforcement. Total weight of the Pump House is approximately 800 tonnes.

When the Pump House was completed, 2 nos Ø1200 mm sea cooling water pipes with a length of respectively 200 m and 350 m was submersed and connected to the Pump House.
