AF has done several project in connection with the new main airport at Gardermoen for Oslo Lufthavn AS.
AF has been part of the construction of the new main airport in Norway from 1995 until 2001, through Eastern runway systems, Parking lot, Environment project, Winter project and Summer project.
Eastern runway systems (1995 - 1997)
Construction of a new runway with a length of 3,200 m with associated taxiways and engine test area. Earthwork involving gravel in the runway area of 3.5 million m3. Dressing for laying of cover and green areas/planting vegetation of 2.0 million m2. Construction of 5-course driveable concrete culvert 17,000 m3, water and sewer work below ground 28.5 km, cable channels in the ground 24 km with 330 km of conduits, open gutter channels around the areas with airplanes 5 km, together with asphalt work.
New parking lot (1996)
Preliminary constructions and foundation work for a new parking lot at Oslo Lufthavn Gardermoen.
Environment project 99 (1999)
The work consisted mainly of extension of existing taxiways in connection with eastern and western runways with 700 m, and expansion of 3 areas for de-icing of airplanes with 40,000 m2, together with construction of reservoirs/lagoons and pumping stations for contents of glycol liquid. Earthmoving of 400,000 m3, pumping cables 5 km, cable channels 2,000 m with 40 km conduits, concrete work 400 m3, membrane work 50,000 m2 and asphalt work with 30,000 metric ton. The work was carried out during the period of June to October.
Winter project 2000 (2000)
Construction of reservoirs/lagoons and pumping stations for contents of formic liquid, together with modification regarding handling of surface liquid from taxiways. Earthmoving of 150,000 m3, pumping cables 3 km, concrete work 400 m3, together with membrane work of 70,000 m2.
Summer project 2001 (2001)
Miscellaneous upgrading work at Oslo Lufthavn for improvements of the winter capacity at the airport.
